Shara Lim

Shara is currently in the final year of a Bachelor of Arts(International Studies/Journalism)/Law at Monash University. As a Legal Project Officer, her roles include editing legal documents, drafting content for new projects, brainstorming technical solutions, pitching new ideas, and generally considering ways to make the firm more efficient.

Shara is deeply interested in technology and innovation within the legal profession, as she believes it can help the law become more human. At the Global Legal Hackathon in 2018, her team received an Honourable Mention for their idea of connecting law students to meaningful work opportunities on a digital platform.

Shara is also passionate about merging the commercial world with social impact. She was elected President of student organisation Monash SEED ('Socio-Economic Engagement and Development') in 2018, hoping to empower students with the knowledge that businesses can create change. Above all, she hopes to see young people pursue purpose-driven lives and careers. Her previous exposure to social enterprises and start-ups serves her well in her current role at Law Squared.

Outside of her work and studies, Shara has a diverse array of interests. She was part of the Honourable Mention Delegation at the National Model United Nations in New York to discuss Nepal's environmental policies, volunteered at the Monash Oakleigh Legal Service and tutored English to disadvantaged students.

She considers a six-month study and travel stint around Canada, the US, and Europe with her best friend one of the highlights of her life so far. She cannot wait to see more of the world to explore different perspectives and cultures, but will always be attached to Melbourne’s excellent food and coffee.
